What is your role at the school and how long have you been a part of the team/OLW?

I am the school Principal, I started at the beginning of 2024.

What do you love most about your job? 

Working with teachers and staff to provide the best opportunities and outcomes for students.

What do you enjoy the most about working at OLW? What makes our school community special to you? 

Building connections with an amazing community of children, staff and families, the parish and our local catholic secondary college.

Can you share a memorable moment/experience you have had while working at OLW? 

Listening to teachers plan and discuss how to engage their students. Being invited to dance at Friendship Club.

What are you passionate about? 

The belief that every child can and will learn. I am also passionate about adults reading to children to foster a love of reading and literature.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work? 

I enjoy reading, cooking, spending time with my family, and being a grandmother

​ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL RELIGIOUS EDUCATION - Shelley Isbester

What is your role at the school and how long have you been a part of the team/OLW?

APRE - this is my 10th year here.

What do you love most about your job? 

I love it all except trying to find relief staff before 6am on some mornings, when all relief is 'busy'.

What do you enjoy the most about working at OLW? What makes our school community special to you? 

I love getting to know the students and learning what their strengths and interests are! The school is like a family and people do care for each other.

Can you share a memorable moment/experience you have had while working at OLW? 

Rehearsals for Easter Play each year. I just absolutely love working with all the students who volunteer so much of their time to be in it!

What are you passionate about? 

Nurturing student spirituality. Teaching of reading. Improving student outcomes.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work? 

Being with my family, friends, cat & turtle and being in my garden.​​

PRIMARY LEARNING LEADER - Carla Riles

What is your role at the school and how long have you been a part of the team/OLW?

I am the Teacher Librarian and Primary Learning Leader.

What do you love most about your job? 

I love sharing literature and a love of reading to every student at OLW! I also love planning and working with our amazing teachers to deliver quality teaching and learning to the students in our community.

What do you enjoy the most about working at OLW? What makes our school community special to you? 

I absolutely love the amazing people I work with and love watching our learners grow and get smarter each and every day.

Can you share a memorable moment/experience you have had while working at OLW? 

I began working at OLW in 2006! I love bumping into past students and seeing how much they have grown and what amazing adults/teenagers they have become.

What are you passionate about? 

I love sharing my love of reading and am very passionate about teaching and learning in English.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work? 

Apart from reading, I love watching my boys play sport and taking my dog, Ollie, for a walk at sunset or sunrise.​​
